Basic Structure of The Skin
Skin Layers
Skin consist of 3 layer Epidermis, dermis and Sub cutaneous tissue.

Outer Layer - Epidermis
Epidermis is composed of four layer
The epidermis itself is composed of five layers. The thickness of the epidermis in different types of the skin thinnest over the eyelids and thickest over palms and soles.
Basal Layer
The basal layer consist of mitotically active cells
Stratum spinosum
Stratum Spinosum consist of polygonal cells known as prickle cells
Stratum Granulosum
Stratum granulsoum contain keratohyalin granuels
Stratum Corneum
Stratum corneum is acellualr layer of epidermis
Middle Layer - dermis
Dermis is composed of collagen bundles, Arector Pili muscle, sweat glands, Blood vessels, Nerves & sebaceous glands
The dermis is located beneath the epidermis and is thickest of all 3 layers. The dermis regulates temperature and supplies nutrition to epidermis.
Inner Layer - Subcutaneous Fat
Subcutaneous tissue is composed of adipocytes and thin collagen bundles

Basement Membrane lies between Epidermis and Dermis
The Basement membrane of epidermis contain numerous proteins known as Hemidesmosomes
